Join us on June 1, 2013 from 10 am – 2 pm at our Toronto self storage locations on Don Mills or Wicksteed for a day of family fun.
Last month we took some time to help collect and sort shoes donated to Hope for Caribbean Kids, Inc. This month we’re continuing to cover kids’ feet by joining forces with Skate to Great.
Skate to Great is a Canadian-based non-profit organization that collects donated new and gently used ice skates and distributes them to deserving and at-risk kids across North America. StorageMart is excited to be helping them by making every StorageMart location in our British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Ontario stores an official drop-off point for donated skates.
Skating is such a fundamental part of Canadian culture and growing up in Canada, that finding a way to get a pair of skates on the feet of any child who wants to learn just seems natural. We’re excited that we can help Skate to Great make this wish come true for every deserving child in Canada and throughout North America.
Skate Collection Day. June 1, 2013
In fact, we’re so excited that we’re holding our own Skate to Great donation drive. Between now and the end of August, our goal is collect 1,000 pairs of donated skates. This summer-long donation drive will officially kick off with a Skate Collection Day on June 1st from 10 am – 2 pm. As part of Skate Collection Day, we’ll have food and ice cream trucks parked outside two of our Toronto self storage locations. StorageMart at 875 Don Mills Road and StorageMart at 120 Wicksteed Avenue will host the June 1st Skate Collection Day . Skate to Great volunteers will be on hand at the two stores to accept donations and talk about their organization. We’ll have some fun activities planned for the whole family to enjoy as well. So come on out, drop off your used skates, and enjoy an ice cream.
