Dave Hester Returning to A&E’s “Storage Wars”

In a move that would have seemed unlikely, if not impossible, two years ago, A&E recently announced Dave “The Mogul” Hester will be returning to the cast of “Storage Wars.”  Hester makes his return in the premiere of the show’s 6th season, airing on the cable network August 12th.

Known for his signature catchword “Yuuup!” when bidding on storage lockers, Hester frequently quarreled with the other regular cast members before being fired from the program following its 3rd season. Hester filed suit against A&E, claiming he was wrongfully terminated and alleging much of the program was faked. He suggested entire storage units were staged and the network funneled cash to bidders who otherwise would not have been able to afford to keep up bidding with regular cast members.

Hester’s Return

Ultimately Hester’s suit regarding unfair business practices was thrown out of court, but he was allowed to pursue his suit for wrongful termination.  He and the network reached a settlement in July 2014, paving the way for his return to the show.

It’s been an eventful offseason for the flagship program of A&E’s “Storage Wars” franchise. In June the show’s auctioneer was hospitalized following a double brain aneurysm. He has since been released from the hospital and allowed to return to work. Additionally, long-time cast members Brandi Passante and Jarrod Schulz have been working on a spinoff show.  “Brandi & Jarrod: Married to the Job” will make its A&E debut on August 12th, following back-to-back new episodes of “Storage Wars.”
