After much research into scholarship programs, we’ve found that the eligibility restrictions on most college scholarships are narrow and stringent. So, we thought we should follow suit – only applicants who are over 7 feet tall, were born in a self storage unit and currently farm over 1,000 acres of radishes should apply – just kidding!

We’re taking a different approach; rather than limiting our ScholarSmarts funds to narrow groups of people, we’re opening the gates. Anyone enrolled in any college, university, technical school, apprentice program, culinary school, public school, private school, ivy league school, fine arts academy, military school, veterinary school, cosmetology school or specialty school of any kind (you get the picture) should apply for this scholarship.

We know that going to school means you’re sacrificing time and money. You’ve already decided that education is important – let us reward you.

ScholarSmarts money can be used for tuition, books, computers and laptops, software, lab fees, room and board, rent, child care or even your mortgage. The bottom line is, you are putting in the time, effort and money to get your degree so whether you spend your ScholarSmarts scholarship directly on school or for all those bills piling up while you’re in class, it’s up to you. Below are the submission details for StorageMart ScholarSmarts.


Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in the Fall 2012 semester at any college, university or institution of higher education.

All candidates are encouraged to apply! Scholarships are open to all students, including but not limited to: graduating college seniors, adults returning to school, single parents going to school, military students, undergraduate students, graduate school students and more.

Students may be enrolled as half-time or full-time students.

How Do You Win?

We can all agree that keeping a calendar to organize our daily tasks increases productivity. An essay about organizing your to-do list is not the direction we're looking for. We want you to think about this essay, dare we say even research your essay. You must cite your sources; however, no specific formatted writing style is required.

Have fun with it, make us laugh, keep us interested, and try to avoid clichés about cleanliness. BE UNIQUE!

Submitting Your StorageMart ScholarSmarts Application

After writing your 500 word essay, including title and unique content send it in an email to: scholarship@storage-mart.com

Attach your essay to the email as a Word document. (The extension should be .doc)
