Children sure do bring a lot of joy. But the one thing that isn’t a whole lot of fun is dishing out all the money it takes to raise a child.
That’s why it makes sense to shop second-hand. You’ll find gently used clothing, books, toys, and more at prices just a fraction of what you’d pay for brand new items.
6 Kids and Baby Sale Ipswich
Sure, you can pay full price, but you also have an option of saving a bunch of money if you live in Ipswich, England. Here are half a dozen of our favorite places.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice has more than two dozen charity shops throughout Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, and Suffolk, including two in Ipswich. You’ll find gently used children’s clothing, as well as toys, books, and even small electronics. Proceeds go to support services for life-threatened children and their families.
You’ll find a wide variety of books here—or you can shop at Oxfam’s online shop, which offers clothing, as well. Oxfam uses proceeds to provide clean water and decent sanitation throughout the world.
Children are expensive—and one of the biggest purchases (at least until it’s time for university) is setting up a bedroom. You’ll find beds, nightstands, and dressers at this second-hand shop—all at reasonable prices, of course.
Ipswich BHF Shop
With proceeds going toward the British Heart Foundation, this charity shop offers all kinds of things, including clothing, shoes, accessories, books, toys, small gifts, music, and homewares. You’ll almost certainly find something you or your child could use, while supporting life-saving research in the process.
If your child is not into riding, you can skip right over this one, but if your little darling has a passion for horses, we don’t have to tell you how quickly everything adds up. This shop offers both new and used saddles and riding apparel, as well as pre-owned tack. In fact, you’ll find everything your little (or big) equestrian needs at this shop—at very reasonable prices if you choose from pre-owned items.
Although this charity shop mostly specializes in clothing for grown-ups, you’ll also find a charming selection of pretty bags, umbrellas, and gift items. Proceeds go to support seniors living in Suffolk.
