3 Super Fun Summer Games to Play

Sitting around and talking is great, but there’s nothing quite like a game to inject fun into a cookout or get-together with family or friends.

Not only is it a good time, but moving around also has many health benefits. You’ll also be able to burn off the burgers, brownies, and beer you may have indulged in.

Lawn Scrabble

As long as it’s not windy, lawn Scrabble is fun for all ages and easy to make yourself. All you need are pieces of cardboard or cork to make letters for the game. In this game, you’ll be using your mind to make words and get a little exercise in the process.

Twister is another classic game that’s easy to recreate outside. Get some spray paint and a circular stencil to make a twister board in the grass.

Everyone loves cornhole and bocce ball, but they’re not always easily portable. Spikeball, on the other hand, packs up easily into a drawstring bag. As seen on “Shark Tank,” the concept is you smack the palm-sized ball onto the net-like trampoline. Your opponent’s goal is to return it. but with the net parallel to the ground.

Bean Bag Ladder Toss

This game is great because it requires virtually no special supplies and very little time. All you need to do is grab a ladder from the garage and label each rung with an increasing amount of points. Write 10 on the lowest rung, 20 on the next, and so on until you reach the top of the ladder. Competitors then toss bean bags through the rungs to earn points.
