Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival

In addition to the music, attendees can enjoy a variety of BBQ provided by vendors throughout the state as well as many drink options. There are also craft vendors and interactive art installations.

This is a festival you can leave and come back to later in the day. So, if you want to leave the festival to visit a farmer’s market or one of the local restaurants, you can do that as long as you present the wristband given to you by the festival.

Visit a Farmer’s Market

Farmer's markets are great places to enjoy good food and community. Open year-round and just 50 miles from Columbia, the Columbia Farmers Market is not only an excellent place to purchase healthy foods, but it’s a fun, alternative activity that you can do with friends, loved ones, and family members. In addition to the social and educational elements of farmer's markets, purchasing food from such venues offers countless benefits that enhance the food you get there.

When you visit such a market, you can get fruits and vegetables that are farm fresh rather than several days old. Often, these foods are organic and non-GMO. Farmer’s market shopping is an excellent way to find fruits and vegetables that are currently in season, contributing to a better vitality, flavor, and nutritional value.

Not only can you support Columbia’s local farm community, but foods purchased at farmer’s markets are often cheaper than the same items you'd get at a traditional grocery store. In addition to fruits and vegetables, you will likely find other items for sale, such as baked goods, honey, and crafts.

Get Ready for the Race

By the way, if you’re a runner or someone who has an interest in health and fitness, have you thought about one of the most affordable ways to have a home gym? Rather than buy a gym membership, you can create your own gym in your garage

One of the benefits of having a gym set up in your garage is the opportunity to create and customize it the way you want. Another advantage is the fact that there’s no competition for the equipment you’ve included. In other words, you can use that treadmill when you want without waiting in line. Also, your home gym is open whenever you want it to be. You don’t have to fit your workout into a commercial gym’s hours. Finally, there’s hardly any travel. Just step inside your garage and get to work.

But what do you do with all the belongings you’ve got in your garage? After all, chances are most of it will need to be cleared out to make room for your new home gym. That’s where a storage unit comes in handy. Just empty your garage out to make room for your gym equipment, and put old items you don't need often in a storage unit you rent every month.

In Columbia, Missouri, we offer a way for you to make room for things that matter, like your health and fitness, by storing belongings you’ve kept in your garage in one of our storage spaces. We provide affordable and well-lit self storage units. Our units can be rented on a month-to-month basis. Check out our Columbia-area storage facilities to start storing your belongings.
