Skate to Great is an amazing organization in Canada. It was cofounded by Evan Kosiner, a successful and influential entrepreneur, philanthropist and broadcaster, and Olympic figure skater Kaitlyn Weaver, who you can watch at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics 2018. Skate to Great’s mission is to provide hockey or figure skates, gear, and sticks to organizations that help provide kids, regardless of financial status, the opportunity to skate. Over 25,000 skates have been donated, and StorageMart has been supporting them both financially and with donated space since their inception in 2012. Skate to Great uses StorageMart’s donated space to store skates, sticks and other equipment waiting to be distributed.
Recently, Skate to Great had partnered with Febreze and StorageMart to collect gently-used sticks and skates for kids in the Toronto area. These equipment drives help bolster the collection of gear to distribute to kids who wouldn’t otherwise have a chance to play.
