Naia is 3 years old. Naia’s mom, Tracy, works at StorageMart and the two of them have been on a very brave and uncertain journey together.
For the last year and a half, Naia has been receiving treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). ALL is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow, and its intense treatment program is designed to last for more than two years.
Rather than let the bad hand she’s been dealt get her down, Naia has faced her treatment with an amount of courage and positivity that is almost impossible to imagine. She has inspired those close to her and everyone in the StorageMart family to show their support by working to raise awareness of leukemia and lymphoma and the necessity of further research in pursuit of a cure.
This fall, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada will host its annual series of Light the Night walks. Every year, communities across Canada hold Light the Night walks to raise funds and bring help and hope to those battling blood cancers and their families.
This year’s Toronto walk will be October 21st. Naia’s mother Tracy and other StorageMart family will be joining in to support Naia and everyone else facing her same struggle. We are more than proud to be one of those supporting Tracy’s efforts and urge everyone to join us. You can view Tracy’s fundraising page here.
Family isn’t just a buzzword around StorageMart. It’s woven into the very foundation of the company – being a family-owned company since founded by Gordon Burnam and now operated by 2nd and 3rd generation Burnams.
Family is what we’re about every day. Whether we’re helping a family store their mementos and treasures in a storage unit, building success among our family of employees , or walking side-by side with a courageous mother and daughter – the central part of what makes our business different is that thread of ‘family’ that runs through it all.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read this and joining us in support of Naia.
