StorageMart, a full-service self storage company with more than 130 locations across the United States and Canada (including nine in the Chicagoland area), is the newest donation drop-off point for Open Books, a non-profit bookstore offering literacy programs for students of all ages in Chicago.
Donation bins for Open Books are now located at the following Chicago-area StorageMart properties:
- 5979 Butterfiled Road,Hillside, Illinois 60162
- 2727 Shermer Road,Northbrook, Illinois 60062
This is the latest joint venture between StorageMart and Open Books. Recently StorageMart gave away tickets to an interleague matchup between the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox as part of a fundraising effort for Open Books.
Open Books will accept donations of any books in sellable condition. These books are then sold at their store located at 213 W. Institute Place, Chicago, Illinois. The monies generated from book sales go to funding literacy programs hosted by the store, which serve thousands of Chicago residents each year.
Donations can be left in the bin at either StorageMart location at any time of the day. Donations will be collected by representatives of Open Books.
