StorageMart Offers Free Storage to Tornado Victims in Kansas City & Columbia, MO

  • Storage for Storm Victims

Severe weather struck the Midwest last night with heavy rain, hail, high winds, and even tornado touchdowns in the western half of Missouri.

Thankfully there are no current reports of fatalities from the storm but many are dealing with the damage from baseball sized hail and winds strong enough to snap trees and tear rooves off of homes.

Storing it Forward with Donated Space

To help those in need, StorageMart is extending a month of free storage to those affected by the storm in Kansas City and Columbia, Missouri. With over 30 locations in the area, we hope we are able to help those needing a place to store belongings from damaged properties while repairs take place.

All you have to do is give us a call at 1-877-STORAGE and mention that you are looking for a storage unit in response to the severe weather in Missouri on Monday and one of our storage experts will help you find a store near you with an available unit that fits your needs.

American Red Cross Response

This is also a great time to mention the amazing work our partners at the American Red Cross do to help respond to natural disasters across the country and the world.

A shelter has been opened in Oak Grove, MO at the Civic Center (2110 S. Broadway) so those affected in the surrounding area have a place to stay and get connected with valuable resources to identify and take next steps. Some of the worst reports of damage in the state were in the Oak Grove area and we urge everyone to connect with the Red Cross for help.

Preparing for the Next Storm

The Red Cross also has several programs aimed at increasing disaster preparedness. Check out their Tornado App that gives tips on how to prepare, how to identify the safest place in your home during a storm as well as relevant weather updates for your area. You can download the app here

Once again, if you are in need of storage space after the damaging storms in the midwest this week, we urge you to give us a call at 1-877-STORAGE and to connect with our friends at www.redcross.org.
