It’s so fun to deck your little one out in adorable clothes. But it’s not fun to spend hundreds of dollars on outfits that are outgrown in months.
Happily, children’s resale shops allow you to get designer duds at reasonable prices.
Here are a few of the best baby and children’s resale shops in town.
This child and baby store specializes in gently worn used clothing, but also carries some new items. You’ll also find an assortment of reasonably priced second-hand toys.
This second-hand superstore is a great place to find gently used furniture, including pieces for your child’s bedroom. Even better is that proceeds from this shop—along with the restaurant on the grounds—go toward fighting homelessness and ending poverty.
PARC Charity Shop
You’ll find children’s clothing here as well as a wide variety of books, toys, games, and even furniture. Proceeds go to the PARC Play and Resource Center.
A great place for older ‘tweens and teens to find fashionable brands like Vans, The North Face, and Guess. You’ll also find accessories like scarves, handbags, jewelry, and sunglasses.
Baby Clothes Resale Tips
If you’re selling baby or children’s clothing, there are a few tips to keep in mind if you want to maximize your profits.
• Find a shop that specializes in what you’re selling. If you have baby clothes, find a children’s resale shop, not a thrift store that carries mostly adult clothing.
• Make sure your items are clean and organized.
• Call ahead and see how your clothing should be brought in. Some shops may want it brought in on hangers. Some may have a maximum number of items.
• Shop around. Different shops will offer different deals. Don’t accept a paltry amount for an item you feel is worth more.
Children are small, but their stuff sure takes up a lot of space. Cribs, strollers, swings, high chairs … and those are just the essentials.
If you find yourself in between kids, so to speak, and need some place to store all of your gear before you need it again, consider self storage
as a possible solution. At StorageMart, all of our units can be rented on a month-to-month basis. Need more info? Check out our storage unit guide
