When you visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cancerresearchuk.org\/\">Cancer Research UK\u2019s website<\/a>, you\u2019ll see that under \u201cabout us\u201d it simply says \u201cwe beat cancer.\u201d This simple statement reflects a host of initiatives set up to help collect funds, goods and volunteer time with the goal of continuing and accelerating the research that has already more than doubled the number of patients living 10 or more years after initial diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>With more than 330,000 people diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK, \u00a0this is an issue that touches the lives of so many and we are excited to be able to support their progressive goal to get to a point where 75% of people diagnosed with cancer survive within the next 20 years.<\/p>\n<h2>How Else Are We Helping<\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019re very excited to have our efforts with Cancer Research UK join similar StorageMart programs in the United States and Canada supporting a host of other worthy initiatives. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.storage-mart.com\/blog\/local-charities\/did-you-know-the-red-cross-responds-to-66-000-disasters-every-year\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American Red Cross<\/a>\u00a0helps respond to over 65,000 disasters a year with much needed aide. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.storage-mart.com\/blog\/local-charities\/storagemart-customers-skate-to-great-help-kids-get-on-the-ice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Skate to Great<\/a>\u00a0in Canada uses several StorageMart locations to help collect donated ice skates for children.
