How Can Your Used Stuff Do Good For Your Community?

StorageMart is pleased to introduce their partnership with Charity Storage and the charity auction program, which auctions storage units of donated items and sends 100% of the proceeds to participating charities.

Donating is simple. You are invited to bring items in good condition to any StorageMart facility in the U.S. Self storage customers can also donate items in good condition that they may no longer have use for or want when they’re moving out. StorageMart will collect donated items in a Charity Storage unit and then auction the entire contents of the unit in the same fashion as the popular TV series “Storage Wars”. All proceeds are given to Charity Storage, a self-storage industry non-profit organization, which then distributes 100% of the funds.

“StorageMart  values this program because it allows us to reach across a diverse range of needs by selecting local charities in each of our communities” says Sarah Little, Interactive Marketing Director at StorageMart. Ms. Little explained, “The donation drop off point is also a service to local residents and self storage customers who might have items they no longer want to keep. Accepting donated items, auctioning them off, and donating that money to charity is a win for everyone.”

Charity Storage funds are shared among national charities, as well as local charities StorageMart has an ongoing relationship with.

  • 30% of all proceeds are sent to KureIt Cancer Research, dedicated to provide innovative research projects focused on kidney cancer and other underfunded cancers.
  • 10% of proceeds go to the Self Storage Association Foundation
  • 60% of all proceeds are given to charities of StorageMart’s choosing.
