Edmonton self storage donates to Alberta wildfire evacuees

StorageMart is donating one month of free Edmonton self storage to evacuees of a major wildfire in the Fort McMurray, Alberta area. For more information please call 1-877-STORAGE (1-877-786-7243) .

As the wildfire continues more than 88,000 people have been evacuated. The fire has already consumed more than 18,500 acres and an estimated 1,600 structures including schools, homes, and business.

“We’re thankful to hear that there have been no fatalities nor serious injuries reported at this time,” said Cris Burnam, StorageMart president. “Edmonton self storage is a resource for those who need somewhere to store the belongings they have rescued from their homes,” Burnam said.

StorageMart is offering those evacuating a place to store the things that no amount of money can replace. Family photos, heirlooms, and mementos can never be replaced by an insurance claim. As a family-owned business, StorageMart operates with a mind towards the communities we serve. Offering a free month for those who are escaping the wildfires is our chance to help out our customers and those residents being effected by this tragedy.

Weather experts report that the fire is likely to worsen as temperatures rise, winds continue to rise, and low humidity is expected for Wednesday.

StorageMart extends its thoughts to the residents of Fort McMurray, and the surrounding areas as they work together to house those who are being evacuated.
