StorageMart Charity Partner Spotlight: Big Brothers Big Sisters

Long before I arrived, StorageMart had a heart for children. Whether through donations to organizations like Foundation for Angelman’s Syndrome Therapeutics (FAST) or the things nobody ever hears about like the annual Christmas party the Burnam family throws for the children at Coyote Hill Christian Children’s Home, the actions of the company and its owners made it clear to me from day one that this is a company who cares about kids.

In 2018, we began our partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, agreeing to donate money to the organization for every review left online for one of our locations in Canada.

In 2019, our friends at BBBS Canada introduced us to BBBS America, and it was easy to see how their mission aligned with our heart for children. We launched a national partnership through our collegiate sponsorships, donating to the organization every time one of our partner school made a tackle or free throw.

In 2020, we’re excited to be deepening our partnerships with Big Brothers Big Sisters both in America and Canada. Starting as early as February, employees will be teaming up to compete in a friendly competition with each other as we raise money for the annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser.

This summer, we’ll be hosting BBBS 101 at locations across the US and Canada, creating a chance for the community to meet with representatives from Big Brothers Big Sisters to learn more about just how easy it is to make a difference in the life of a child.

Throughout the year, I’ll be sharing stories from both sides of the border because in the end, it’s the stories of lives changed that truly matter.

I’m sure we’ll have even more ways for our customers and employees to get involved as the year progresses, so keep an eye on our social channels for updates!
