StorageMart Sponsors Gala to Support Foster Care

The StorageMart family is proud to be involved with a number of well-run, highly regarded non-profit organizations across the United States and Canada.  One of those nearest and dearest to us is the Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association (CMFCAA) and their mission to support foster care children and families.  Past projects with CMFCAA included our “Shoe in for Foster Kids” shoe donation drive last spring, and last week we sponsored their Forget-Me-Not Gala for the second straight year.

StorageMart’s Relationship with CMFCAA

“StorageMart has been a longtime friend and supporter of CMFCAA,” StorageMart Marketing Director Sarah Little said.  “We’re grateful for the opportunity to help sponsor an event that does so much for foster families in Mid-Missouri and plays such a key role in finding permanent, stable homes for kids in need.”

Held at the Capitol Plaza in Jefferson City, MO, the Forget-Me-Not Gala is one of CMFCAA’s biggest fundraising events each of the past 6 years.  This year’s event featured dinner, live and silent auctions, entertainment from Columbia, MO-based band The Last Night Benedictions and remarks from Masters of Ceremonies Kelly Schultz, Director of the Missouri Office of Child Advocate, and Caleb Rowden, member of the Missouri House of Representatives.

CMFCAA is just one the many great charities we partner with via our StorageMart Gives program.  Other non-profit partners include the American Red Cross, Lexington (KY) Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas, San Antonio Humane Society, Wayside Waifs (Kansas City), Open Books (Chicago) and Women in Need (New York).

About the Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association

Founded in 2007 by former foster children and foster parents, CMFCAA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating, supporting and advocating for foster care and adoptive children in Central Missouri by partnering with community and governmental agencies to provide services and develop healthy and self-sufficient individuals and families.

CMFCAA is the only community service organization in Central Missouri providing for the needs of foster and adoptive children beyond state required levels. CMFCAA is currently assisting more than 640 foster families and 1400 foster children across 13 counties in Mid-Missouri. Their goal is to be a line of support in the area to those families and youth in need.  For more information, please visit http://www.ccfosteradopt.com/.
